Radiant Matriarch

The Sovereign Woman Is Well-Fed

Tara Preston, Midlife Awakening & Transition Guide, Sacred Nourishment & Holistic Feminine Prosperity Mentor, Creator of the Flower of Life Akashic Method, Serving the Global Feminine for 15 Years Season 6 Episode 2

What if nourishment isn’t a reward for finishing your to-do list, but the foundation of your sovereignty?

Join myself Tara Preston, as I take you into a grounded, body-first exploration of feminine leadership—where the womb is the home’s center, radiance is regulation, and receiving is a practice you cultivate every single day.

Rather than pushing for worthiness, we unpack the hidden pattern of overgiving and show how slow food, sensual ritual, and creativity rebuild capacity from the inside out.

I share how the kitchen can become an altar and why texture, color, and scent awaken Shakti—the creative current that makes action feel effortless. We get honest about midlife depletion: adrenal fatigue, irregular cycles, inflammation, and the subtle ways cortisol hijacks clarity.

You’ll hear practical ways to rebalance—mineral-rich teas, supportive nutrition, gentler mornings, and rest woven into your cyclical rhythm—alongside deeper tools like Akashic record clearing, flower essences, and somatic practices that rewire patterns at their root.

We also draw a clean line between nervous system regulation and nervous system rewiring. One calms you now; the other changes your baseline so prosperity can land without push or panic.

Expect a clear path: self-mother the inner child, set clean boundaries, say yes to desire, and let your energy become magnetic instead of overextended. If you’re ready to feed yourself first—spiritually, emotionally, creatively, and physically—and lead with ease, this conversation offers both language and tools to begin.

SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to Radiant Matriarch, a gathering place for way showers, mothers, visionaries, and leaders ready to embody a new paradigm of feminine leadership for these changing global times. I'm your host, Tara Preston, transformational leadership guide, Akashic teacher, and creator of the Flower of Life Akashic Method, serving the global feminine for over 14 years. Here we rise beyond the old models of hierarchy, control, exhaustion, depletion, and into a way of leading rooted in radiance, sovereignty, and creational feminine power. Together we heal the motherline, expand our capacity through nourishment, and cultivate sustainable prosperity that honors the true design of women. This is leadership as sacred activism. Love and liberation in motion, creating personal freedom and transforming families, communities, and the world. While each episode may feel like a small step, I know it does to me. Together, they build momentum toward a higher vision for all of us. Stay tuned for today's episode. We're going to be talking about reclaiming nourishment as a sacred act of sovereignty. So many women that I've worked with over the years, they're starved emotionally, spiritually, sensually, right? We've been conditioned to overgive, to earn rest. That's a huge one. And to feed everyone else first. Oh my gosh. And doing so many past lifetime readings, you know, I think I've done like 6,000 or more now. And it's not an uncommon story to actually visit a past lifetime where in that lifetime the mother oftentimes would be the who would be the client. You know, sometimes we're going back to some, you know, boring lifetimes where there's more subtle trauma, but it's still trauma and it's playing out in repeating patterns. But where the woman was literally conditioned to serve the rhythm of the man in society and the family. And so what often happens is that her needs, wants, desires would be buried. And there'd be a sense of sadness, a sense of isolation in that because other women were doing it too. And there'd be a sense of that suppression, right? And so there would literally be in past life stories, oftentimes, where everyone would be fed first. The man would be fed first, then all the children, and then the woman would literally sit down and feed herself, but she was exhausted from everything that she had done to prepare and nurture the family. And that's a very old paradigm of being rooted and anchored in our motherhood for one, and also in our radiance and our power as women. So really, truly, the womb is meant to be the center of the home. And when women are anchored in their radiance, in their womb, in their beauty, in their power, in their truth, and the systems and structures of the home are set up to support the mother, the mother thrives. There's a different kind of healing energy and radiance that she brings forward. The family feels really anchored and calm. She essentially becomes the nervous system of the home, which is really powerful. And the children are much more regulated. She's nourished, she's fed, and so are those around her, just through the beauty of the transmission and vitality of who she is. So oftentimes when I'm working with women, we're undergoing this process of clearing and untangling where there has been these patterns of sacrifice and suppression, right? And and it's subtle and not so subtle, and it can take time to really unearth that and then to shift the framework of a woman's life or her business or her family. All right. So let's continue on here. I kind of went on my own little tangent. So we're talking about the sovereign woman being well fed. So what about how we thrive through nourishment? What about how we thrive through nourishment? And nourishment is a big, big value of mine. It's a big priority focus of mine. I'm always looking at like how good can I allow myself to be? What is my level of nourishment? Where can I deepen into and expand into greater nourishment? Because it builds our capacity to hold more as women. Right? We can hold more and we can do it with a lot more ease. And that's the power of nourishment. How well can we feed ourselves rather than starving ourselves, which is often the case for a lot of women, and we do it in different areas of our life. Um, and so sometimes we do it spiritually, emotionally, we do it through our pleasure, we do it through our creativity, right? So this week I have been back in the kitchen, which, you know, is such a beautiful altar space for me to ground, to anchor the heart of the home, truly. And if you're not so much into cooking and food, I totally understand. What I do find though is if we focus on nourishment and pleasure in the kitchen, we start to really invite in the essence of Shakti. We start to invite in the essence of radiant, magnetic, creative power to start to circulate and flow. And it really becomes no different than art because we start to work with our senses, with the sense of smell, with the sense of uh color and texture, and it becomes like a ritual of preparation where we're engaging our creativity and our sensuality. So I want to make that invitation first off, you know, and sometimes we need to start with meals that just feel inviting and exciting for us, you know. So I'm always looking for different um recipes or ideas or trying new foods and looking at how to create and prepare meals that feel not just nourishing through the nutrients of the food, but nourishing in color and texture and all of the beautiful ways that food is meant to nourish us. And then also the way that we that we eat our food becomes important as well, right? Are we doing it slow? Are we breathing through our meals? Are we allowing ourselves to be to receive the nutrients of life through our food? And it becomes a really important way of mothering ourselves, right? I always look at like food and herbs, tinctures. I work a lot with flower essences. These are all they're all um aspects of Mother Earth, right? The mother, how the mother wants to feed and nourish us. If we even just think of, in essence, the very beginning of life and being breastfed and and receiving the nutrients of the milk, right, from the mother. So how we allow ourselves to receive nutrients becomes a really big part in um how we receive life, how we receive nourishment. There's some crossover here too with um the masculine and and how we allow ourselves to feel and be penetrated by by life, but I find food and pleasure and nourishment and nurt nerd nutrients and nurturing to be more rooted in the mother. And often as young girls, we weren't necessarily taught how to deepen into, we weren't really taught how to listen to and honor our deeper cravings, our deeper hunger, right? It was often overrode, sometimes because of our societal conditioning, sometimes because of the wants of the mother, sometimes because I think sometimes, you know, mothers, fathers think that it were it serves a child to stay committed and to stay with things long term. And I agree with that to a degree until it overrides the deeper desires or impulse or creative impulse of the child. And I think a lot of times, um, depending on the generation that you come from, we weren't necessarily given space to always honor that. Right? So now as women, we can honor that, we can listen to what we want, what we need, what we want, where we're starving, where we're craving, where we want to need to want to be fed. And as I'm speaking to this, I feel a lot of energy too around recognizing creativity as such a source, source of nourishment, you know, and it is, and I just finished my morning painting practice, you know, it's all of these practices, whether it be practicing, you know, the ritual of food preparation or our sacred style or our creative practices like painting or pottery or you know, whatever, jewelry making or whatever it is for you, are so nourishing and really start to awaken a new level of vitality. And we're shifting out of this paradigm again of, and I talk a lot about this in the Flower of Life Akashic Certification, this old paradigm of the the of the feminine, which is really, you know, it's about collapse in our energetic system. It's about depletion, disconnect, right, numbing out, right? There's a real collapse in the energetic system where vitality and life are not flowing. There's a depletion. In in where when we're anchored in this new paradigm of feminine prosperity and leadership, we are connected. We are self-sourced, we are in our vitality, we're in our creative power. Energy is circulating, circulating, energy is our energy is magnetic, we're expanded, we're rooted, we are influencing our environment in a very powerful way. And so just to weave this into the more that we feed and nourish ourselves, the more we are really becoming sovereign in our own energies. We have domain over our own energy and how we want to hold our own energy, nurture our own energy, and build our own capacity for vitality and power. So, this is something that it we are going to be deepening into in this upcoming sovereignty series, right? And it's really all about coming home to your body, your truth, and your flow. So that begins on October 22nd. I still have six spots left. I'm just taking a small group through this. Um, there's an uh intro pricing for$250. It'll be$500 next time I run this. So this is going to be a deep but uh shorter container that will really recalibrate you, give you a powerful taste of my work on many different levels, and give you the tools and the clearing work really to start stabilizing your energy in a new way. So we're going to be talking, you know, about the nervous system, nervous system rewiring that needs to happen as we shift these paradigms. We're also going to be talking about, we'll get into some Akashic record group clearing. You'll work with your own Akashic record. I'll bring through transmissions. I guide you so you can start untangling where these patterns of depletion exist in your body, where you're holding them at the level of the Akashic record. So powerful. We'll be moving through some of these topics around nourishment. I think you get my seven-day feminine radiance ebook with a whole bunch of beautiful recipes in there. Um, my 21-day Akashic Womb Awakening Journey uh journal, and we are going to be weaving in some creative practices for you because it's a part of nourishing the creative spark. Life is creative by nature, right? We are created through a very highly act of creation, and so we need to find ways to cultivate the energy of creation, right? To awaken vitality, to step back into our primal creative power as women. And so we're gonna be dropping into pieces around that, right? So it's it's um womb, soul, and flow. And I'm gonna take you through all of these beautiful practices, some somatic practices as well, we'll get into. Just really beautiful, simple, easy morning practices that you can do to wake up your Shakti, to wake up your energy, to get into your feminine body. This is really a three-week midlife feminine reset. So I don't have a landing page for this, it's just something that I've pulled together. If this works, if this speaks to you, just email me, tara at terapreston.com. Or you can reach out to me on Facebook as well. All right, so I'm just gonna take a moment here. I'm gonna look over my show notes and I'm gonna keep today's podcast episode relatively short. And um yeah. So what happens in the body when you've been overgiving for years, right? And what does happen in the body when you've been giving, overgiving for years is depletion, right? It can be extreme depletion, it can be adrenal fatigue, right? It can just be a deep sense of um feeling tired. It can leave you feeling very um cut off from your relationships and your ability to receive love in deeper and expansive ways, believe it or not, right? It can really mess with your cycles, and especially in midlife, this is where you start to get a lot of um the perimenopause symptoms connected to depletion, right? Because our bodies are really out of balance come midlife after pushing, going, and doing for many, many years, after not honoring our cyclical nature as women, right? And so when we don't honor our cyclical nature as women, we don't cultivate an ebb and flow in our life. We don't cultivate uh that the being in tune with our own creational impulse and our own creational flow. And so we it creates imbalance in our energy and in our body, and we can have a multitude of um different symptoms. You know, for myself, about two years ago, I was coming out of caregiving from my mom who was really ill, and my daughter who had um a health emergency, and I was very depleted from caregiving and overgiving at that point, but it was a very good reminder to me around my own principles of feminine prosperity. And I had to bring myself back into balance. And at that time, I was starting to have a few different uh perimenopause symptoms. I'm 47 now, but I was starting to have a few different perimenopausal symptoms. My cycles were a little bit um wonky, I was very depleted, my cortisol was creating a lot of puffiness in my body, I had inflammation, um, my liver was um kind of like overburdened from a lot of coffee and probably too much wine here and there. Um, and I don't, I barely, barely drink now because I've made my body and my energy a priority. And it was it was beautiful because it gave me a body of work. It gave me the body of work after working with women for 12 years at that point, right? Coming into midlife, it was like I had to choose myself. I had to choose myself. I had to start, I took, I went back to school, I studied, I got my foundations in nutrition. Um, I still have a whole diploma program that I'm working towards, but I got my foundations in holistic nutrition and I started applying a lot of the nutrient protocols, and I started to deeply nourish myself with um nutrient, nutritive teas, herbal teas, like very nutritive teas with a lot of minerals and vitamins in them. I had to cultivate myself back into a space of balance by deeply listening to my rhythms again, right? I had gotten a little bit out of sync, so I had to really give myself time to rest during my bleed and to flow when my energy picked up and then support myself with um nutrition and food in a way that would also support my body. Um, what are some of the other things that I did? I want to share them with you. I worked a lot with flower essences, um, of course, the Akashic Records, just clearing out some of those layers of where it didn't really feel safe, especially in midlife sometimes or often, you know, we're in that sandwich generation place. So cleaning clearing out patterns around where it didn't feel safe to choose myself and really start to prioritize even more ways to support my own vitality and my own power and my own leadership. I feel like I'm missing something important, but I can't recall what it is. And so prioritizing your own nourishment is prosperity. Like it truly is because when we're working from a level of depletion, disconnect, hustle, go, we are not building up our energy in a way that creates sovereignty, where we're rooted in our creative power and where we can create prosperity from a place of ease. Right? We have to actually cultivate a field of embodied feminine prosperity if we want money to translate into our physical experience from a place of ease. Right? We have to learn to let go, we have to learn to stop doing as much, we have to start remembering how to create from our our feminine power. And in that place, we come into a place, a space of homeostasis. We start to find balance in our creative power, we start to build our energy, and we start to take action from a different place of internal um alignment, not out of obligation anymore, but out of a place of what do I want? Right? How do I need to support my energy? Right. And we start to cultivate balance with our boundaries with people. And it's always about balance. Anytime I do block clearing with women, it's always about balance because most of the time we're always tipped over way too far, right? Because most of us have the conditioning where we're seeking love, can love, safety, approval, um, and acceptance, right? Oh, so we're very externally motivated, right? So we have to clear out those patterns, we have to get to the root of it, and then we have to come home to ourselves and really strengthen that internal foundation, which allows us to move forward in a new way. All right, so I feel like um this is a little bit rambly today, but I'm not gonna, I'm I'm just gonna keep going. And so just to kind of move on to the next piece here is really the nervous system stabilization. You know, when women start to establish new patterns, when they start to honor themselves, when they start to say no to others and yes to themselves, it's a natural that one, they're working on stabilizing their nervous system, which by the way, nervous system regulation and nervous system rewiring are two different things. A lot of the Akashic record work that we do is nervous system rewiring because we're unpacking a lot of the deeper patterns rooted in trauma that are rooted in, you know, working out of this old paradigm of scarcity, disconnect, depletion, lack, right? And so we start to clean all that up so that we can drop into a more empowered place of connection, of limitless. We're coming back into that place and that paradigm of remembering our limitless creative power, of that, you know, of limitless prosperity, of remembering and reclaiming our divine power, how powerful we are as creative beings in this human experience. Right? We're coming out of separation consciousness and into unity consciousness, where we're remembering and reclaiming our divine right to a prosperous and free life, and that starts within, and it starts within at a foundation level aspect, and it starts within as we anchor into a new place of consciousness in our own being, and as we do, and as we clean and clear that up and stabilize a new foundation and anchor into this new place of consciousness, we start to create differently, right? We start to create differently in how we move forward. Our understanding of prosperity and power shifts. And so that's one way that we start to rewire the nervous system. Or the other piece is creating safety and receptivity in the nervous system. So now we can start to like let go a little bit, we can start to find trust, we can start to come into our bodies, we can start to find flow, we can start to come into a different experience of prosperity and money, but still, you know, we want to look at how to create safety and receptivity in the body because things start to shift around a woman as she does that. And that's where it can feel unsafe because the inner child is still grasping at these old patterns of safety, acceptance, approval, and love. So we need to look at where that is showing up, and we need to stabilize the inner child. And we do that through learning to mother ourselves, mother that very vulnerable part of ourself. And it's one of the key pieces of stepping into your sovereignty, of saying yes to your own path. Right? We start to we start to nurture and support and stabilize that internal vulnerable part of ourself. So we have to learn new tools and new ways of being in order to do that. And that's what we will be doing in the sovereignty series, which I am very much looking forward to. So we're gonna be getting into practices like food, rest, movement, beauty, creativity. It's only three weeks, but you know, we're gonna touch in on these themes, and you'll be given home play assignments and everything you need to deepen into and to amplify the vibration of what we're opening up. Alright. So, sovereignty is really this coming home to your body, your truth, and your flow. Your body, your truth, and your flow. So I'm gonna invite you to just hand over heart, hand over wound, taking a moment to take a few deep breaths. Breathing in through the nose, down into the energetic womb space, up and out through the mouth. Beautiful. Just allowing yourself full permission to arrive in your body. Maybe you want to just do like gentle circular motions over the womb. You might want to stand up and do some swaying hips. Just breathe and giving yourself permission to arrive in your body in this present moment, time space reality. Just a full permission to arrive. You're just doing some gentle womb circles, connecting into the energy of the womb circles, and I inviting you to just do some gentle hip swaying, hand circle, just to have one hand on your womb, breathing in, softening, melting into the body, giving yourself just a moment to just feel the gentle pleasure of arriving in your body, in your womb space. In your heart. Letting go of all attachments. Any place you need to be. There's nothing that I need to do. I am more than enough right now. Right here and right now, I am more than enough. My presence is a gift. What is the deepest, the deepest truth that your essence has for you right now? What is one way that you're being asked to prioritize that truth in your life? Now we'll do it. Thank you for listening. You can email me at her atterrapresent.com or come and find me on Facebook. Alright, I'll talk to you soon. Bye for now.
